Quinta da Badula

Quinta da Badula sits in the Tejo region of central Portugal, where the Tagus River moderates a continental climate and clay-limestone soils support bold red varieties. The winery's Reserva Tinto blends Shiraz, Touriga Nacional, and Alicante Bouschet—a combination that draws on both international and indigenous Portuguese grapes. Touriga Nacional, Portugal's flagship dark variety, brings structure and dark fruit; Shiraz adds richness and spice; Alicante Bouschet contributes depth and color. The resulting wine reflects the Tejo's character: ripe, textured, and built for aging. Wine Advocate, Wine Enthusiast, and Wine Spectator have all assessed the Reserva Tinto, which scores in the upper 80s.
