Lagar do Merens produces wines from Castilla y León, Spain's expansive interior region. The winery works primarily with indigenous and regional varieties: Treixadura, a white grape prized for its mineral character and acidity; and red blends built from Souzao, Garnacha, and Caiño tinto. The Fermentado en Barrica, a barrel-aged Treixadura, represents the winery's commitment to oak aging and structure. Labrador and 30 Copelos round out the portfolio, the latter a field blend that captures the diversity of the region's terroir. Decanter and Wine Advocate have assessed the range, finding depth and balance across the lineup. Lagar do Merens sits within a region known for both traditional methods and modern precision, where continental climate and varied soils shape wines of substance and aging potential.
