Brigaldara produces Amarone della Valpolicella in the Veneto region of Northern Italy, where the traditional appassimento method—drying grapes to concentrate their sugars—defines the category. The winery's portfolio centers on three expressions: the Riserva, Case Vecie, and Classico, each a blend of Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella in varying proportions, with the Classico adding Oseleta to the mix. These are wines of weight and structure, built on the dark cherry and dried fruit character that appassimento imparts. Prestige critics including Wine Advocate, Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast, Decanter, and Falstaff have assessed the range, with the Riserva and Case Vecie both earning marks in the low 90s. Valpolicella's volcanic soils and continental climate create the conditions for these full-bodied reds, which age gracefully and reward patience in the glass.
