Question 1

Is it worth going out of your way for?

Accepted Answer

Yes, if you are specifically interested in a deep, curated selection of German wines from small producers. The combination of a fine-dining restaurant and an attached vinothek with allocation access is unique in Bamberg.

Question 2

Who is it for?

Accepted Answer

It’s for diners who engage with wine as much as the meal—ideal for date nights, focused dinners, or anyone seeking a deeper look at small-producer German bottles. The calm, deliberate pace rewards attentive pairing.

Question 3

What should you order?

Accepted Answer

Prioritize dishes that let the wine speak, and lean on the staff's knowledge for pairings. Ask about the relationships behind the bottles, as the list is built on direct producer contacts. Many selections are available to drink in or purchase from the adjacent shop.

Question 4

How do you get a table?

Accepted Answer

Book directly with the restaurant.

Question 5

Anything to know before you go?

Accepted Answer

It’s closed on Mondays and Sundays. The restaurant and its attached vinothek are on Karolinenstraße in the Altstadt, operating with a shared sourcing philosophy but as separate spaces.
