Question 1

Is it worth going out of your way for?

Accepted Answer

Yes, for the specific experience of staying in a meticulously restored historic palace within the ancient medina, backed by the service standards of Relais & Châteaux. The arrival—a walk through narrow streets to a serene courtyard—is integral to the stay.

Question 2

Who is it for?

Accepted Answer

Travelers who value architectural history and an authentic medina location, but also want the amenities and consistent service of a small hotel, rather than a more rustic or improvised guesthouse.

Question 3

What should you order?

Accepted Answer

The restaurant Gayza serves a menu that blends Moroccan ingredients with French haute cuisine technique. The specific dishes are not detailed, but the culinary approach is a formal fusion of the two traditions.

Question 4

How do you get a table?

Accepted Answer

Book directly through the hotel. The final approach to the riad is on foot from Sidi El-Khayat square, as cars cannot navigate the narrow streets of the medina.

Question 5

Anything to know before you go?

Accepted Answer

Prepare for a two-minute walk with your luggage from the drop-off point. The contrast between the bustling medina streets and the tranquil, ornate interior of the riad is a defining part of the experience.
