Good to know

Is it worth going out of your way for?: It's worth the detour for anyone methodically tracking Dutch provincial cooking. It's a destination for those intentionally exploring kitchens in smaller towns that draw a loyal regional following, rather than those seeking a night out in Amsterdam.
Who is it for?: It's for diners exploring Dutch provincial cooking and for evenings that merit more attention, like date nights and special occasions that prioritize ingredient-driven meals. It appeals to visitors mapping provincial culinary highlights over an urban night out.
What should you order?: Prioritize dishes that showcase local produce and fish, given the focus on Noord-Holland's agricultural and maritime sourcing. Expect a menu oriented around seasonality and terroir; ask the staff about what's sourced nearby.
How do you get a table?: Seating is limited in these smaller-town kitchens. Plan ahead if you need a specific night or time.
Anything to know before you go?: It's located in a traditional Zaanse-style wooden building on the waterfront at Erfgoedpark de Hoop. The surroundings are low-key, in the way of many Noord-Holland polder towns, with flat horizons and water nearby.
