Aphros produces wines from Vinho Verde, the distinctive region of Northern Portugal's Minho valley known for its cool climate and mineral-driven whites. The winery works with indigenous varieties suited to the Atlantic-influenced terroir: Alvarelhao and Loureiro, grapes that thrive in the region's conditions and express its characteristic freshness and subtle complexity. Ouranos, made from Alvarelhao, represents the winery's work with this traditional variety. Phaunus Loureiro and Phaunus Pet Nat, both from Loureiro, showcase different expressions of a grape central to Vinho Verde's identity—one still, one sparkling. These wines have been assessed by Wine Enthusiast, Wine Spectator, and Decanter.
