Astobiza produces wines in Arabako Txakolina, the smallest and most mountainous of Spain's three txakoli regions in País Vasco. The winery focuses on Hondarrabi Zuri, the indigenous white variety that defines the region's crisp, mineral character, alongside selective use of other grapes suited to the Atlantic climate. Malkoa Edición Limitada, their flagship Hondarrabi Zuri, demonstrates the precision and complexity possible from the variety in this terroir. The winery also works with Gros Manseng in their Late Harvest expression, exploring textural depth beyond the region's typical dry profile. Both wines have drawn assessment from Decanter and Wine Advocate, reflecting their technical merit within the txakoli category.
