Bannert
Bannert is located in Weinviertel, the expansive wine region of Niederösterreich in eastern Austria. The winery produces wines across the classic Austrian varietals. Its Salcam Grüner Veltliner and Reserve Schatzberg—a blend of Merlot, Zweigelt, and Cabernet Sauvignon—have both earned 91.7-point ratings from Falstaff. The Sündlasberg Reserve Weissburgunder, made from Weissburgunder grapes, received a 91.5-point assessment from the same critic. Grüner Veltliner, Austria's signature white, is known for its mineral-driven character and herbaceous notes; Weissburgunder brings richness and stone-fruit depth. The Reserve Schatzberg reflects the region's capacity for structured red blends, marrying the spicy, peppery character of Zweigelt with the darker fruit and tannin structure of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Weinviertel's continental climate and loess soils support both crisp whites and age-worthy reds.
