Cave de Sarras operates in the Northern Rhône, where steep granite slopes and continental climate shape wines of mineral intensity and structure. The winery works with Syrah, the region's defining red grape, and Viognier, its aromatic white counterpart. The Cuvée Champtenaud Saint-Joseph demonstrates the dark fruit and peppery complexity that Syrah achieves in this terroir, while the Saint-Joseph offers a more direct expression of the variety. The Domaine Jacques Vernay Condrieu, made from Viognier, captures the floral and stone-fruit character the grape develops on the Northern Rhône's steep hillsides. Wine Enthusiast and Wine Spectator have rated the winery's releases.
