Château Cantemerle sits in Haut-Médoc, the heart of Bordeaux's Left Bank, where gravelly soils and the Atlantic's moderating influence shape wines of structure and finesse. The estate produces two principal bottlings. Baronne Caroline Haut-Médoc blends Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon into a wine that has drawn assessment from Decanter, Wine Spectator, and Wine Enthusiast. Les Allées de Cantemerle, a secondary release, reverses the proportion, leading with Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc alongside Merlot. Both wines reflect the Haut-Médoc terroir: the dark-fruit density and tannin architecture characteristic of the region, tempered by the elegance that Cabernet Franc and Merlot bring to the blend. The wines have been evaluated by major critics and represent the house's approach to Left Bank Bordeaux.
