Château Couhins

Château Couhins sits in Pessac-Léognan, the historic heart of Graves where gravel soils and Atlantic influence shape wines of mineral precision. The estate produces two principal expressions. La Gravette Pessac-Léognan blends Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc into a structured red that has drawn assessment from Falstaff, Wine Advocate, Decanter, Wine Enthusiast, and Wine Spectator. Its white counterpart, La Gravette Pessac-Léognan Blanc, marries Sauvignon Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, and Sémillon—a combination that captures the region's tradition of aromatic, age-worthy whites. The secondary red, Les Demoiselles de Couhins Pessac-Léognan, offers a Cabernet Franc–led blend with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. These wines reflect Pessac-Léognan's reputation for elegance and terroir-driven character, where cool nights and well-drained soils encourage complexity over power.
