Château de Clotte

Château de Clotte produces wines from Castillon, a dynamic appellation within Bordeaux's right bank. The region's clay and limestone soils yield structured reds built on Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc—grapes that thrive in this cooler pocket of the Côtes de Bordeaux. Les Quatre Lys Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Malbec, represents the winery's core expression. The Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux (Bordeaux Supérieur), anchored by Merlot with Cabernet Franc and Malbec, offers a complementary perspective on the terroir. Both wines have been assessed by Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast. Castillon has emerged as a source of serious, age-worthy Bordeaux at a more measured price point than the Left Bank's grand crus.
