Château de Montmirail produces wines from Vacqueyras, in the Southern Rhône Valley, where Mediterranean heat and mistral winds shape the character of old-vine Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre. The winery's portfolio centers on two appellations: Vacqueyras and the neighboring Gigondas. Cuvée Saint Maurice Gigondas, a blend of Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Grenache, represents the upper tier of the range. La Combe Sauvage Gigondas, built on Grenache and Mourvèdre, offers a complementary expression of the appellation's structure and depth. Cuvée des Deux Frères Vacqueyras rounds the core lineup, combining Mourvèdre, Syrah, and Grenache in the broader Vacqueyras designation. These wines have been assessed by Decanter, Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast, and Wine Advocate. The Southern Rhône's warm, rocky terroirs and traditional Rhône blending practices inform the winery's approach to dark-skinned varieties and the mineral, spice-forward profiles characteristic of the region.
