Château des Gimarets
Château des Gimarets produces Gamay from Moulin-à-Vent, the northernmost and most structured of Beaujolais's ten crus. The appellation's granite and schist soils yield wines of unusual depth and aging potential for the region. The winery's Moulin à Vent expresses the cru's characteristic power and mineral tension, while Moulin-à-Vent Céleste offers a complementary expression of the same terroir. Both wines have been assessed by Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast, reflecting the serious intent behind the vineyard's work. Gamay from this corner of Beaujolais diverges sharply from the region's lighter, fruit-forward reputation—here the grape reveals structure, earth, and the kind of complexity that rewards attention.
