Château Faizeau sits in Montagne-Saint-Émilion, the northern satellite of Saint-Émilion in Bordeaux's Libournais region. The estate produces Merlot-based wines with supporting Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc—the classic structure of the Right Bank. Les Chants Montagne-Saint-Émilion, the flagship, blends Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot to express the appellation's mineral terroir and mid-weight frame. Harmonie and Chants de Faizeau round out the portfolio, each incorporating the three Bordeaux varieties in different proportions. The wines have been assessed by Wine Enthusiast, Wine Spectator, Wine Advocate, and Decanter. Montagne-Saint-Émilion offers an alternative to the more celebrated Saint-Émilion proper—wines with similar DNA but less extraction and more restraint, suited to food and cellaring without the premium price.
