Château Gruaud Larose

Château Gruaud Larose sits in Saint-Julien, the heart of the Médoc's left bank, where gravelly soils and the maritime influence of the Gironde estuary shape wines of structure and depth. The estate produces two principal expressions. Larose de Gruaud Saint-Julien, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, anchors the portfolio with the dark fruit and tannin architecture characteristic of the appellation. Sarget de Gruaud Larose Saint-Julien, the secondary wine, layers Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot into a more accessible frame. Both have drawn assessment from Falstaff, Decanter, Wine Enthusiast, Wine Spectator, and Wine Advocate. Saint-Julien itself is known for Cabernet-driven blends that balance power with elegance—wines built for the cellar yet approachable in their youth.
