Château La Clare

Château La Clare sits in the Médoc, Bordeaux's left-bank heartland where Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot define the regional style. The estate produces two principal wines. Its flagship Médoc blends Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot into a structure typical of the appellation—firm tannins and dark fruit character. The Haut de La Clare Médoc reverses the blend emphasis, leading with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, offering a slightly different expression of the same terroir and grape varieties. Both wines have been assessed by major critics including Wine Enthusiast, Decanter, Wine Spectator, and Wine Advocate. The flagship carries a prestige rating of 87.5; the Haut de La Clare, 84.5. Together they represent the winery's approach to Médoc winemaking—two takes on the region's classic left-bank formula.
