Château La Nauze produces wines from Castillon, in Bordeaux's Libournais region. The winery crafts two expressions from this appellation: a Castillon-Côtes de Bordeaux built on Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, and a Premium Castillon-Côtes de Bordeaux focused on Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Both wines have been assessed by Wine Enthusiast and Wine Spectator. Castillon sits on the right bank of the Dordogne, where cooler microclimates and clay-limestone soils favor the darker fruit and structured tannins characteristic of the region's blends. The appellation has emerged as a source of serious, age-worthy Bordeaux at a more measured price point than its celebrated neighbors.
