Dr. Heyden

Dr. Heyden produces Riesling from Rheinhessen, Germany's largest wine region. The winery's portfolio centers on the grape's expressive range across ripeness levels: the Riesling Spätlese Trocken captures the dry, mineral-driven side of late-harvest fruit, while the Riesling Feinherb bridges dry and off-dry territory with subtle sweetness. The Oppenheimer Sackträger Riesling Spätlese, sourced from a vineyard site within the region, rounds out the lineup. Rheinhessen's warm continental climate and diverse soils—sandstone, clay, and loess—allow Riesling to develop full phenolic ripeness while retaining the acidity that defines the variety. Wine Enthusiast and Wine Spectator have rated these wines.
