Frentana works the volcanic soils and continental climate of Terre di Chieti, in Abruzzo's heart. The winery focuses on two grapes native to the region: Cococciola, a white of mineral precision and structure, and Montepulciano, the dark-skinned backbone of Abruzzo's reds. The Terre Valse Cococciola expresses the white's characteristic tension and salinity. The Montepulciano d'Abruzzo bottlings—both the standard Panarda and the aged Rubesto Riserva—show the variety's capacity for depth and tannin architecture across different styles. Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast have rated the portfolio. Frentana's work sits within Abruzzo's tradition of food-driven, mineral-edged wines built for the table rather than the trophy shelf.
