Geppel Mayer works the Kremstal, a subregion of Niederösterreich in Austria's Weinland. The winery focuses on the white varieties that define the region: Grüner Veltliner and Gelber Muskateller. Its portfolio includes the Ried Eichbühel Gelber Muskateller, a wine that captures the aromatic intensity Muskateller is known for, and two expressions of Grüner Veltliner—the St. Rupertus and the Gottweiger Berg Reserve Krusteiten, the latter drawn from a vineyard site with a long history in the region. Falstaff has assessed the winery's output. The wines reflect the Kremstal's terroir: mineral-driven, crisp whites built on the region's loess and primary rock soils.
