Gizella
Gizella produces wines from Tokaj, Hungary's legendary sweet wine region. The winery works with the indigenous grapes that define the area: Furmint and Hárslevelű, both capable of concentrating noble rot into wines of remarkable depth and complexity. The Aszú 6 Puttonyos Tokaj—a blend of Furmint and Hárslevelű—represents the region's apex of sweetness and structure, while the Deák Furmint and Barát Dűlő Hárslevelű showcase the singular character of each varietal in dry or off-dry form. Decanter has rated these expressions, recognizing their balance of honeyed richness, acidity, and mineral tension. Tokaj's volcanic soils and cool continental climate create conditions where botrytized grapes achieve a rare equilibrium between sugar and freshness—a signature that runs through Gizella's range.
