Hans Herzog produces wines in Marlborough, New Zealand's premier cool-climate region. The winery's portfolio spans both the aromatic whites the region is known for and more unexpected varietals. Mistral, a Rhône-style blend of Viognier, Roussanne, and Marsanne, represents the winery's exploration beyond Sauvignon Blanc. The Sauvignon Blanc Barrel Fermented Sur Lie undergoes extended contact with its lees, adding texture and complexity to the varietal's natural minerality. A Nebbiolo rounds out the range, bringing the structure and tannin profile of the Italian classic to the Southern Hemisphere. Wines from the estate have been reviewed by Wine Advocate, Wine Enthusiast, Wine Spectator, Falstaff, and Decanter.
