Jäger produces wines from Austria's Wachau region, a steep-terraced valley in Niederösterreich known for mineral-driven white wines. The winery's portfolio centers on two classical varieties: Riesling and Grüner Veltliner, both grown in the region's distinctive schist and loess soils. The Smaragd Steinriegl Riesling displays the precision and stone-fruit character typical of Wachau's highest-elevation sites, while the Smaragd Achleiten Grüner Veltliner captures the green-apple snap and herbal complexity the variety achieves in this terroir. These wines have been assessed by Falstaff, Wine Enthusiast, Wine Advocate, and Wine Spectator.
