Karl Josef produces Riesling from the Mosel, Germany's most celebrated cool-climate region. The winery focuses on the Piesporter Michelsberg vineyard, where slate soils and steep slopes create the conditions for aromatic, mineral-driven wines. Two expressions anchor the portfolio: the Piesporter Michelsberg Riesling Spätlese, a late-harvest wine with riper fruit character, and the Piesporter Michelsberg Riesling Kabinett, a lighter, more delicate interpretation. Both wines have been assessed by Wine Enthusiast and Wine Spectator. The Mosel's cool climate and Riesling's natural acidity yield wines of precision and balance—capable of expressing terroir with clarity while aging gracefully.
