Leuta
Leuta produces wines from Cortona, in Toscana's southeastern reaches. The winery works with varieties suited to the region's continental climate and limestone-rich soils: Sangiovese, the backbone of Tuscan red wine; Syrah, which finds expression in the structured 0,618; and Merlot, a secondary but established presence in the area. The Solitario di Leuta Sangiovese Cortona represents the house's engagement with the local varietal tradition. Wine Enthusiast has rated the portfolio, with the Syrah reaching 88 points and both the Sangiovese and Merlot cuvées at 87. These scores reflect wines of balance and definition rather than extraction—the kind that speak to terroir and vintage rather than oak or power alone. Cortona's elevation and diurnal temperature swings shape wines with acidity and mineral backbone, qualities evident across Leuta's range.
