Lunadoro produces Sangiovese and Montepulciano from Toscana's Montepulciano region, where volcanic soils and continental altitude shape wines of structure and precision. The Pagliareto Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, a Sangiovese expression, leads the portfolio. The house also releases a core Vino Nobile di Montepulciano in Sangiovese and Primosenso, a Rosso di Montepulciano built on Montepulciano fruit. These wines have been assessed by Falstaff, Wine Enthusiast, Wine Advocate, Decanter, and Wine Spectator. Montepulciano's terroir—marked by clay and limestone with elevation between 250 and 600 meters—favors wines with tannin grip and mineral backbone. Sangiovese here tends toward cherry, dried herb, and earthy undertones; Montepulciano adds darker fruit density and softer edges. Lunadoro's range reflects the dual character of the zone: elegance through restraint, power through place.
