Mayer Resch

Mayer Resch works the Weinland region of Niederösterreich, Austria's largest wine territory. The winery focuses on Grüner Veltliner, the white grape that defines Austrian viticulture—mineral-driven, crisp, and capable of remarkable depth. Two expressions anchor the portfolio: Grüner Veltliner Steiner Terrassen, which draws character from its vineyard site, and Riede Goldberg Reserve Kremstal Grüner Veltliner, a reserve-level interpretation of the same variety. Both have been assessed by Falstaff, the influential Austrian critic. The Kremstal subregion, where Goldberg sits, is known for terraced vineyards and slate-rich soils that impart distinctive mineral signatures to the wines. Mayer Resch's commitment to Grüner Veltliner reflects the grape's central role in Austrian wine identity—a variety prized for its ability to express terroir with clarity and precision.
