Michel Delhommeau

Michel Delhommeau produces Muscadet from the Sèvre et Maine subregion of the Loire Valley's Muscadet appellation. The winery works with Melon de Bourgogne, the region's defining white variety—a grape that yields crisp, mineral wines with bracing acidity and subtle stone fruit character. The portfolio centers on sur lie aging, a traditional technique that extends the wine's contact with yeast sediment, adding texture and complexity. Cuvée Symbiose Muscadet Sèvre-et-Maine Sur Lie and Le Clos de la Bourgeonnais Muscadet Sèvre & Maine Sur Lie represent the winery's range, alongside the core Muscadet Sèvre et Maine Sur Lie. All three have been assessed by Wine Enthusiast, Wine Advocate, and Wine Spectator. Sèvre et Maine, the most prestigious sector of Muscadet, is known for its schist and gneiss soils, which impart distinctive salinity and depth to the wines.
