Nicolis is a winery in Verona, in the Veneto region of northern Italy, working with the classic grapes of the Valpolicella zone. The house produces Amarone della Valpolicella Classico, a wine built from Corvina, Molinara, and Rondinella—the traditional blend that defines the region's most prestigious dry red. Their Ambrosan Amarone della Valpolicella Classico, made with Corvinone, Rondinella, and Corvina, represents a variation on that theme. Nicolis also makes Seccal Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore, which blends Corvina, Molinara, Croatina, and Rondinella. These wines have been assessed by Wine Enthusiast, Wine Spectator, Decanter, Wine Advocate, and Falstaff.
