Papagiannakos

Papagiannakos works with the native grapes of Attiki, the continental region surrounding Athens. Savatiano, the area's signature white variety, forms the core of the winery's portfolio. The Vareli Savatiano Skin Contact demonstrates the grape's mineral depth and textural complexity when given extended contact with its skins—a modern interpretation of ancient Greek winemaking. The Savatiano Old Vines draws from mature plantings, offering concentration and structure. Assyrtiko, the volcanic white from the Aegean islands, rounds out the range with its characteristic salinity and precision. These wines have been assessed by Wine Advocate, Wine Enthusiast, Wine Spectator, Falstaff, and Decanter, reflecting their standing within the international wine conversation. Papagiannakos sits at the intersection of Greece's classical wine identity and contemporary technique, rooted in the terroir of Attiki.
