Perillo

Perillo produces wines from Irpinia, the mountainous heart of Campania in southern Italy. The winery focuses on two indigenous varieties that define the region: Aglianico and Coda di Volpe Biancha. Its Taurasi Riserva, made from Aglianico, represents the region's most prestigious expression—a wine of structure and aging potential that has drawn assessment from Decanter, Wine Spectator, Wine Advocate, Wine Enthusiast, and Falstaff. The standard Taurasi offers a more immediate expression of the same grape. Coda di Volpe Biancha, Irpinia's signature white, appears in Perillo's portfolio as Coda di Volpe Irpinia. Aglianico thrives in Irpinia's volcanic soils and cool elevation, developing the tannin and acidity that allow these reds to age. Coda di Volpe Biancha, equally suited to the terrain, yields crisp, mineral-driven whites. Perillo's range anchors itself in these varieties and their terroir rather than international grapes, positioning the winery within Irpinia's tradition of place-driven winemaking.
