Poggio L'Apparita
Poggio L'Apparita produces wines from Maremma Toscana, a region in southern Tuscany known for its maritime influence and warm, mineral-rich soils. The winery's portfolio centers on Sangiovese-based blends that incorporate international varieties suited to the area's climate. Il No. 5 pairs Shiraz and Sangiovese into a wine rated 93 by Wine Advocate. San Michele, a more complex blend of Shiraz, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, and Merlot, reflects the region's capacity for structured, age-worthy reds. The winery also produces San Michele No. 3, a Sangiovese rosato rated 87.5. These wines demonstrate the character of Maremma: sun-ripened fruit balanced against the acidity and tannin structure that define serious Tuscan winemaking.
