Pulpit Rock
Pulpit Rock produces wines from Swartland, the Coastal Region's inland district in South Africa's Western Cape. The winery works with the varieties that define the area: Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz, and Pinotage. Its Reserve Chardonnay demonstrates the region's capacity for structured white wines, while a Cabernet Sauvignon–Merlot blend explores the darker fruit and tannin profiles characteristic of Swartland's warmer soils. The Swartland Stories Shiraz–Pinotage blend draws on two grapes central to South African winemaking: the peppery intensity of Shiraz and the earthy complexity of Pinotage. Wine Spectator has rated these wines.
