Querceta produces Sangiovese-based wines from Montalcino in Toscana, the heart of Italy's classical wine country. The winery's portfolio centers on the region's signature expressions: Brunello di Montalcino, the structured, age-worthy standard; Brunello di Montalcino Riserva, a more concentrated iteration of the same grape; and Rosso di Montalcino, the approachable younger sibling. Sangiovese in this terroir develops the characteristic tension between tannin and acidity that defines Tuscan reds—wines built for the table and for time. Wine Enthusiast has rated across the range, with the Riserva reaching 93 points and the base Brunello at 92. The Rosso, lighter and more immediate, scored 88. These are wines rooted in place and tradition, expressions of Montalcino's volcanic soils and continental climate.
