Robert Foley Vineyards

Howell Mountain Merlot anchors Robert Foley's twenty-three-wine range — the sub-AVA is Napa's high-elevation volcanic ridge and the bottling Decanter and Wine Advocate score most often. The Pepperland and Muscleman Petite Sirahs, the Touriga-inflected Niedeldieke, and a Bordeaux-blend tier flesh out the reds, while Roussanne, Marsanne, and Grenache Blanc cover the Rhône-white side. Five prestige critics rate the range; the Merlot has hit 98 (Decanter, 2018) and 99 (Wine Advocate, 2016) in peak vintages. The Conclusão dessert wine and Hawksbill rosé are the lower-stakes entries if you want the house hand without the Merlot price.
