Santa Venere operates in Calabria, the southernmost region of mainland Italy, where Mediterranean heat and ancient volcanic soils shape distinctive wines from indigenous varieties. The winery's Cirò Gaglioppo Rosso, made from the region's signature Gaglioppo grape, has drawn attention from Wine Spectator, Wine Advocate, and Decanter. Gaglioppo produces wines with deep color and structured tannins, reflecting Calabria's warm climate and the grape's natural intensity. The Federico Scala Gaglioppo Cirò Riserva offers a more concentrated expression of the same varietal, while the Vescovado Guardavalle Bianco showcases the local Guardavalle grape—a white variety rooted in the region's winemaking heritage.
