Spadafora
Spadafora produces wines from Calabria, the southernmost region of mainland Italy, where Mediterranean sun and ancient volcanic soils shape distinctive expressions. The winery works with Magliocco Canino, a regional red variety that anchors both still and sparkling wines, alongside Greco, a white grape native to southern Italy. Telesio Riserva blends Magliocco Canino with Greco, while Madreperla Spumate Bianco Brut takes the red variety into the sparkling category—an unconventional choice that reflects Calabria's experimental spirit. A dry Bianco rounds out the portfolio. Wine Enthusiast, Wine Advocate, and Wine Spectator have all assessed Spadafora's output, with the Telesio Riserva and Madreperla Spumate reaching 88-point averages. These wines represent Calabria's potential as a source of character-driven, lesser-known Italian expressions.
