Sylvaine et Alain Normand works the limestone-rich soils of Mâcon, in southern Burgundy, where Chardonnay thrives on the region's mineral bedrock. The winery's portfolio centers on white wines from two neighboring appellations: Mâcon la Roche Vineuse and Pouilly-Fuissé, both expressions of the same noble grape adapted to distinct terroirs. The Mâcon la Roche Vineuse Blanc, drawn from standard vines, and the Vieilles Vignes iteration, from older plantings, show the textural range possible within a single village. Les Crays Pouilly-Fuissé, from the more prestigious neighboring appellation, rounds out the core range.
