Tenute del Cerro produces Sangiovese-based wines from central Tuscany, where the region's clay and limestone soils shape wines of structure and age-worthiness. The winery's Brunello di Montalcino, a wine of Sangiovese aged in oak, has been assessed by Wine Enthusiast, Falstaff, Wine Advocate, Wine Spectator, and Decanter. The Poggio Abate Brunello di Montalcino Riserva, a reserve expression of the same varietal, represents a more concentrated iteration. Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, also Sangiovese-based, rounds the portfolio. These are wines built on the classical Tuscan model: Sangiovese's tannin structure and acidity provide the framework for aging, while the terroir of Montalcino and Montepulciano lends the characteristic earthiness and red-fruit character of the zone.
