Terre di Balbia works with the indigenous grapes of Calabria, Italy's southernmost mainland region. The winery's portfolio centers on Magliocco Canino and Magliocco Dolce—varieties rooted in the region's volcanic soils and Mediterranean climate. Serramonte Rosso, a blend of Sangiovese and Magliocco Canino, represents the winery's approach to marrying regional tradition with structure. Balbium Rosso, built entirely from Magliocco Canino, and Fervore, made from Magliocco Dolce, round out the core offerings. These wines have been assessed by Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast, and Wine Advocate. Calabria remains one of Italy's least-known wine territories, yet its indigenous varieties possess distinctive character shaped by the region's unique terroir.
