Theresa Eccher works with the volcanic soils and cool microclimates of Etna, in Sicily's Terre Siciliane region. The winery focuses on Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio, indigenous red varieties that thrive on the mountain's slopes. ER Etna Rosso and Altero Etna Rosso, both blends of these two grapes, represent the core of the portfolio. A rosato made from Nerello Mascalese rounds out the range. Wine Enthusiast has rated these wines. The volcanic terroir imparts mineral precision and structural tension to the reds, while the rosato captures the delicate aromatics the variety offers in a dry, food-friendly format.
