Véronique Günther Chéreau produces Muscadet from the Sèvre et Maine subregion of the Loire Valley, where Melon de Bourgogne thrives in cool Atlantic conditions. The winery's portfolio centers on this classic white varietal—mineral, crisp, and food-friendly—expressed across distinct vineyard sites. Gorges Muscadet-Sèvre et Maine, the flagship, achieves depth and structure from mature vines and careful winemaking. Domaine de La Bournaire Vieilles Vignes, drawn from older plantings, shows the concentration that age brings to Melon. Coing de Sèvre, aged sur lie (on its lees), gains textural richness and subtle complexity from extended contact with yeast. Each wine reflects the limestone and clay soils of the appellation, where the practice of sur lie aging—traditional to the region—adds dimension without obscuring the varietal's essential character. Decanter, Wine Enthusiast, Wine Spectator, and Wine Advocate have rated these releases.
