Vilafonté produces Bordeaux-style blends in Paarl, within the Coastal Region of South Africa's Western Cape. The winery's portfolio centers on four core varieties—Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec—combined in different proportions across its range. Series C, the flagship blend, anchors the portfolio with Cabernet Franc and Malbec leading a structure built on Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Series M follows a similar varietal palette, weighted toward Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec, while Seriously Old Dirt rounds out the core offerings with Merlot as its foundation. The wines have been assessed by Wine Spectator, Wine Advocate, Decanter, and Falstaff. Paarl's warm, maritime-influenced climate and diverse soils support the ripening of these Bordeaux varieties, allowing the winery to craft age-worthy blends with the structure and depth characteristic of the region.
