Weingärtner Esslingen produces dry red wines from Württemberg, Germany's most important red wine region. The winery works primarily with Lemberger and Trollinger, indigenous varieties that thrive in the region's warm continental climate and limestone-rich soils. The Esslinger Schenkenberg Trollinger–Lemberger blend, a co-fermented expression of these two grapes, represents the winery's approach to the local terroir. Lemberger appears across the portfolio: in the single-varietal Keller 11 Abt Fulrad, where it shows structure and dark fruit character, and in the Schenkenberg blend, where it anchors the wine's backbone. The winery also works with Zweigelt, the Austrian variety that has found a foothold in Württemberg's warmer microclimates. Falstaff has rated these wines, recognizing their dry, food-friendly profile and regional authenticity.
