Weinhäusel

Weinhäusel operates in Burgenland, Austria's easternmost wine region, where continental climate and sandy soils create conditions for bold red wines. The winery produces three flagship reds that have earned recognition from Falstaff: a Syrah that channels the grape's dark fruit and spice; a Merlot with the variety's characteristic softness and structure; and a Blaufränkisch, the indigenous Austrian varietal known for its peppery minerality and bright acidity. Each wine reflects Burgenland's capacity for ripe, expressive reds—a region that has become synonymous with quality Merlot and native varietals across Central Europe.
