Winkler-Hermaden
Winkler-Hermaden works the volcanic soils of Steiermark in southeastern Austria, where cool nights and mineral-rich terroir shape wines of precision and aromatic intensity. The winery's portfolio centers on the white varieties that define the region: Gewürztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc, and Grauburgunder. The Gewürztraminer Klöcher Ölberg expresses the floral and spice-forward character the variety is known for, while the Kirchleiten Grosse STK Lage Sauvignon Blanc captures the herbaceous and citrus-driven profile typical of Austrian examples. The Schlosskogel Erste STK Lage Reserve Grauburgunder—a Pinot Gris expression—rounds out the range with the stone-fruit and mineral complexity the grape achieves in cool climates. These wines have been assessed by Wine Advocate, Falstaff, and Wine Spectator.
