Question 1

Is it worth going out of your way for?

Accepted Answer

Yes, if you're in the Mission and want a definitive, high-quality scoop from a local institution. The consistent OAD ranking and the perpetual line of regulars are the endorsements.

Question 2

Who is it for?

Accepted Answer

For locals making it a standing appointment, families after a park visit, and visitors seeking a straightforward, well-executed benchmark of San Francisco's artisanal ice cream scene.

Question 3

What should you order?

Accepted Answer

The signature, small-batch flavors: Salted Caramel, Roasted Banana, Balsamic Strawberry, or Coffee Toffee. Decide before you join the queue.

Question 4

How do you get a table?

Accepted Answer

There are no tables; it's counter service. You join the line outside, which moves faster than it looks. Be ready to order when you reach the window.

Question 5

Anything to know before you go?

Accepted Answer

Expect a wait on warm days—it's part of the ritual. The queue is full of regulars who already know what they want. It's open daily, with hours typically from 8 or 9 AM to 9 PM.
