Almaviva sits in Puente Alto, the heart of Maipo Valley's premium terroir in Chile's Central Valley. The winery produces two flagship wines that have drawn attention from Decanter, Wine Advocate, and Falstaff. The namesake Almaviva blends Cabernet Sauvignon, Carménère, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot into a structured wine that reflects the region's capacity for dark-fruit intensity and mineral precision. The second offering, EPU, combines Cabernet Sauvignon, Carménère, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot in a different proportion, offering an alternative expression of Maipo's volcanic soils and Mediterranean climate. Both wines demonstrate the valley's signature character: ripe tannins balanced by acidity, with the structure to age. Puente Alto's elevation and alluvial deposits create conditions where these Bordeaux and Chilean varietals develop complexity and depth.
